Well here we go again, another “How to” Post. I really enjoy learning new things and sharing the information on my blog. Therefore you will find that alot of my blogposts that are “How To”.
I Remember back when I was first getting started in this business, I found myself gravitating towards reading how to material, in an effort to educate myself.
I am hoping that alot of my readers learn from my posts, and they keep coming back to learn more.
I am really enjoy learning how to add widgets and gadgets, or any kind of application to my social media.
So this time I am going to show you how to add an Opt-In form to your Facebook Profile page. The first time I saw one of these, I just had to have one!
The whole process of installing an Opt-In form is rather simple, and you can install one yourself. All you need is a Facebook account and an autoresponder account. In fact your autoresponder account is where you will make the form that will be installed on your Facebook Profile page. I am going to show you how to do all this via screencapture video so you will be able to follow along with me.

Another quality post my friend.
The only thing I would say… The days of the Opt in Box actually getting you any leads on FB are over. In fact… the mere mention of your business on your FB page really turns people off. I suggest removing all traces of your business. People will ask what you do.
Great post though. Thanks for the quality content!

Thanks Joseph, I appreciate your comment! I hear what you are saying. My opt-in box is purely FREE information, It does not pertain to my opportunity I am not trying to sell anyone anything, just trying to provide value. Thanks, Joseph McDevitt

Hi Joseph, I’m from TSA and this is my first time at your blog. I really like the design and layout. Clean and Professional. All of my pages are BUSY. That’s just “me”. I kind of knew how to do this already, however I’m sure a lot of people appreciate the assistance. You did do a great job at explaining things; as a matter of fact, I work in PR and I’m wondering if you’ve ever done Voice-Overs or Radio? From my opinion you to seem to have the voice for it. Anyway, now I just need to figure out how to add a capture form to my Facebook FanPage! *hint *hint LOL – Thanks Buddy!

I love blogs that teach me how to do techy things! This seems a great idea but I’d love to know what others actually use the opt-in for. Will it work for a fan page too?
Fabulous blog Joe, I’ll be back for more ‘how to’ advice

Johanna, Thanks for your comment! To answer your question… yes you can put an opt-in form on your fan page. I plan on doing a future post on how to do that. If you want, I will show you how to do it in advance of that post. Just let me know, and I will do a sreencapture and send it to you!

Hi Joe,
Great job on the video tutorial. I think video works best on how-to information. I know a lot of people need these. Unless you can actually “see” it done, it can be quite confusing. It’s very sweet of you to offer help to those who need it. I too spend a lot of time going through how-to information… always growing, always learning… keeps you current with the ever-changing Internet and keeps your mind fresh… and young, to boot! LOL.

Hey Joe
Some interesting comments here.
Should you or shouldn’t you have an opt-in on your Facebook profile?
Offering free information or tutorials is not the same as promoting your business so I would think it would be ok.

Hey there Joe, you created a great tutorial and great resource for everyone actively using Facebook. However, what I have discovered after much split testing is that people simple do not want to be taken off Facebook or much less opt into something BUT what does work REALLY well and converts WAY higher is putting a banner add on your profile. Give it a shot and see what happens, I’m curious to know if it will work the same for you…

Hi again Joe. I followed the instructions and it’s not being place on my site. I did some research and I found a lot of people complaining about Facebook not allowing any HTML on their site. Do you have an update on this or is it just me?
Thanks in advance,
Michael

Michael, Just recently Facebook has changed their Applications and from what I understand they are not allowing opt-in boxes anymore. These changes took place after I made this post on “How to add an opt-in form to your Facebook profile”. Sorry for that, but Facebook makes the rules.
