Well, when I first saw one I liked it so much I just had to have one on my blog. So I went ahead and installed one.

This Widget is actually installed through Facebook and it’s relatively easy to install.

Once it is installed your blog visitors can click on the button at the bottom of the Widget thats titled “Follow this blog”. I want to point out however that after you click on “follow this blog” you must be patient because it takes a while before your picture shows up in the widget. It might take as long as 1 to 2 hours. So be patient my friends!

I want to personally invite you to “follow my blog” and I will reciprocate and visit your blog and follow yours.

What I am going to do next is show you via screen capture video how easy it is to install the Networked Blog Widget.

Well the first time I saw one I wanted to put one on my blog, so that’s exactly what I did.

So if you want to put one on your blog, I am going to show you how!

First I want to tell you that I am going to give you a brief description of what you need to do, and the I will include a link that will give you a video tutorial that will make it very easy to follow along.

First you will have to set up an account with Google Friend Connect at www.google.com/friendconnect.

Then you  will have to upload the Google Friend Connect plugin in your admin. panel of your WordPress blog.

Now comes the video tutorial that’s explains how to do it.

These two search engine giants will index your Blog in 48 hours or less.

Yes, as soon as one of your visitors includes your Blog  RSS  feed in their Yahoo or MSN account, your Blog will be indexed by that particular search engine.

For example, Yahoo will spider your RSS feed and Blog when one of your visitors includes your feed into their personal Yahoo account. And your Blog will be indexed usually within 48 hours.

And the best part of all…   It’s absolutely FREE!

You can speed up the process by subscribing to your own feed in your “my Yahoo” account, and your “my MSN” account.

But before you do this make sure you have these three things:

1.) An account with Yahoo and MSN.

2.) Your RSS feed url.  (It will look something like this: http://josephmcdevitt.com/feed/

3.) And a fair amount of posts in your Blog ( You don’t want people visiting an empty Blog.)

Now, log into your Yahoo and MSN accounts, for Yahoo look up in the top left for “my Yahoo”. Click on that. Then at the top left you will see “add content”, click on that. Then click on “add RSS feed”.

For MSN, on the right side you will see a settings tab, click that, then click on “my MSN”. there you will see a tab that says “add content”, on the left side you will see where it says “add RSS”. Click there and add your RSS feed.

As a final step to make sure your feed was added correctly. log into your Yahoo and MSN accounts. Click on “my yahoo”, and “my MSN”. Your feed will show up at or near the top of the page.

That’s all you have to do to get your Blog indexed on two major search engines like Yahoo and MSN. Totally FREE!
