Marketing Strategies

If you are not using Postcards as a way to market your business then you are missing out on a very effective Marketing Strategy!

By getting involved in Postcard Marketing you are entering a multi-billion dollar direct mail and direct marketing industry.

The benchmark for success in direct mail and Postcards in particular is the percentage of responses that turn into income as a result of a given direct mail Postcard campaign!

The key to understanding the psychology of Postcard success is this… You have a 10 second window of opportunity to get someone to respond. Postcards are a “direct response” marketing venue. The goal is to generate direct, immediate response. The person looking at your Postcard will give you 10 seconds. Your goal is to give them all they need in that 10 second window to cause them to either go to your website or call you on the phone.

If your marketing a home business type program, just give them your 800 sizzle line message or a website. Personally I prefer to use the 800 sizzle message to pre-sell or get them excited to take the next step, such as visit my website or attend a webinar.

The national response rate for direct mail Postcard marketing is 1% to 2% of buyers. Now that might not sound like much but, at 1% your making great money… at 2% your going to create some serious cash flow!

So go ahead and get started today and earn your share of this multi-billion dollar industry!

To help you get started I am including a 21 page Postcard Marketing Manual that gives you all the ins & outs on how to create and implement an effective Postcard Marketing strategy! Please accept this very valuable manual as a gift from me to you!

Hi Joe. I agree with you 100% about the effectiveness of postcard marketing especially when compared to using letters in a direct mail marketing campaign. Your 10 second window of opportunity comment is right on the mark although I think one might have even less than 10 seconds. With a postcard, your message, at least some part of it, can’t be avoided because there it is – staring one in the face – without having to open an envelope. If your graphics/colors/message is compelling enough, you might just get them to read that postcard :) BTW – do you do anything with cross media marketing solutions and postcard mailings? Cross media adds a whole other valuable component to postcard campaigns by incorporating lead acquisition and the very important ability to track and measure one’s campaign. Really neat stuff :)

    Thanks for sharing your insights!

I’ve been involve with direct mail for about 25 years. Back in the 80′s you could expect a 7% to 9% response. Those were the days. But I think people have forgot how effective postcard marketing can be.

    Thanks for the insight.

Debbie, Wow, a 7% to 9% response rate would be wonderful! Nowadays if you get a 2% response your doing good. But even with a 2% response things are going quite well for me.

great tip… i think it’s important to add that trying any new method, like postcards, just one time is not enough time to say whether it’s the right method for you. doing many mailings or sending them out for at least a quarter is a good snapshot to determine one’s ratios and results. as you mention in the comments, postcards get costly so it’s critical to be able to commit to a method of advertising for a long enough period of time to generate a return before you run yourself out of business!

great to connect w/ you in TSA joe :)

      Melissa,
Spot on! One time is not enough to determine weather postcard marketing will work for you! There are a lot of different variables that can have an impact on your success, and one of them is where you obtain your mailing list. I recommend a very reputable broker in my Free manual that I provided in this post.
